You won't run out of things to see

The Ninepipes Lodge is the perfect place to call home while you explore all that Western Montana has to offer. Hiking, horseback riding and wildlife vieweing are located just a short distance from the Lodge and take a look below at even more attractions that make for great day trips!

The National Bison Range

Home to the American West’s most iconic animal, the CSKT Bison Range is a truly a special place. This wildlife sanctuary is located just a short drive from the Lodge. Visitors will also encounter wildlife such as elk, antelope, mule deer, whitetail deer, multiple bird species, grizzly and black bears. The Bison Range is open in all seasons and you never know what you may see!

Flathead Lake

If swimming, fishing, boating, paddle-boarding and kayaking are some of your favorite activities, then you won’t want to miss spending some time on the largest freshwater lake West of the Mississippi River. Flathead Lake is located only 25 minutes from the Lodge and there are so many great spots to access its famous cool, clear water.

Ninepipes National Wildlife Refuge

Birdwatchers visit us from all over the world to view the hundreds of species that frequent the Ninepipes National Wildlife Refuge. This unique 1,770 acre reservoir is located right across the road from the Lodge and provides for ample amounts of bird and wildlife watching. While the Refuge offers viewing during all seasons, there is subperb viewing of raptors in the Winter.

St. Ignatius Catholic Mission

The St. Ignatius Mission is a landmark Roman Catholic mission founded at its present location in 1854 by Father Pierre-Jean De Smet and Father Adrian Hoecken. The current mission church was built between 1891 and 1893, and listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The Mission is a short drive from the Lodge.

Glacier National Park

Most travelers to our area have Glacier National Park on their list of things they “must see”! With over 700 miles of trails, Glacier is a hiker’s paradise for adventurous visitors seeking wilderness and solitude. And we agree that the “Crown of the Continent” is one of our area’s most majestic and beloved attractions. GNP is located approximately 112 miles from the Lodge. If you leave early, you can definitely make this a day trip from our location!

Skiing and Snowshoeing

The Ninepipes Lodge is located near multiple ski areas. Powder hounds will not be disappointed by Whitefish Mountain or Blacktail Mountain, both located north. To the South, near Missoula, is Snowbowl. All are within diriving distance from the Lodge. There are also opportunities to snowshoe & cross country ski in the Mission Mountains, right near our location.

If you're going through ninepipes stay at this lodge! It's just a quick drive from flathead lake, has amazing views of the Rocky Mountains, GREAT & friendly service, and delicious food (stay for breakfast and order huckleberry pancakes)! We stayed in a spacious mountain view room and loved walking around the pond and enjoying the nature preserve that's right Across the street! Thanks Ninepines! We will be back.

Stayed twice during our Montana visit. Our room was at the back of the lodge overlooking the lake. Beautiful view of the mountains and the wide Montana sky. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and we had the best nights sleep. A visit to the wildlife reserve is a must; we saw many birds. Would definitely visit again and recommend to our friends and family.

My wife and I love to come here to eat, enjoy their patio that overlooks their large pond, and just stare at the Missions. The bar is great too with plenty of TVs and great service for a good price. We are local so we stop in often! Can't miss it! Check it out
